  3. Santa's Luminary Trail at Sunset Zoo

    November 30, 2019, 4:30 PM - December 1, 2019, 8:00 PM @ Sunset Zoo

    Join us for this hometown holiday event! We will have lighted Luminary Trail around a portion of the Zoo. Santa will also be joining us and families will be allowed to take pictures and visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Additional Activities include: *Storytelling - The Mitten by Jan Brett *Cookie Decorating *Arts and Crafts *Music *Live Animal Encounters Each family will receive a copy of the book The Mitten by Jan Brett while supplies last. Families will have the opportunity to walk the Luminary Trail, make arts and crafts during storytelling and enjoy treats and hot chocolate and coffee provided by Paramour Coffee. Tickets will be available at the Sunset Zoo gift shop or online in November. Tickets also available at the gate the day of the event. For more information please call 785-587-2737.

Science - Behind the Science

  1. Science on Tap

    November 13, 2019, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Tallgrass Tap House

    A monthly gathering at Manhattan's Tallgrass Tap House, featuring local and regional scientists and public discussion around their research. Each event is structured slightly different, but all include a short introduction, some type of activity, and conversations with the featured scientist. This event is organized by Sunset Zoo and hosted at the Tallgrass Tap House. Additional partners include K-State Graduate School, K-State Center for Engagement and Community Development, and the Tobler Lab. This month's featured scientist will be announced shortly.
